Popup software, compared honestly.

Ten tools, their published prices, the unit each one actually bills you on, and who each is genuinely for. Written by one of the ten — so the first thing below is where we lose.

We sell one of these. Here is our bias.

BetterPopup is on this list, and six of the nine other tools are cheaper to start than we are. Two of them — OptiMonk and Poptin — publish real free plans, and OptinMonster starts at $7 a month. If your constraint is budget rather than capability, those are the right answer and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.

Every price below was read off that vendor's own pricing page on 17 August 2026 and links back to it. We make no claims about anyone's performance, conversion rates or customer numbers — only about what they publish.

Published price, and what it bills on.

Ordered by entry price, cheapest first. Ours is seventh.

Prices as published on 17 August 2026. Wisepops quotes after a demo rather than publishing tiers, so its figure is the “from” price on its own pricing page. Currency is as each vendor lists it — two of them bill in euros.

Which one is actually for you.

One honest sentence each, including the six that beat us on price.

OptiMonk

Free, then $19/mo

Poptin

Free, then $25/mo

OptinMonster

From $7/mo intro (12 months), then $210/yr — $17.50/mo

You run several sites across several platforms and want 700+ templates and 12 campaign formats — provided you price the tier that actually has exit intent ($29) or Shopify ($49).

You want popups and basic email marketing from one vendor on one bill, on Shopify.

Full comparison →

Sleeknote

From €49/mo

You are in Europe, bill in euros, and want gamification available as an explicit tier rather than an add-on.

Justuno

Klaviyo Forms

Included with your Klaviyo plan

Alia

$200/mo Basic; $400/mo Fully managed

You want the managed, quiz-and-personalization end of the category and the budget is there.

Wisepops

From €499/mo

You are large enough that popups, embeds, surveys, web push and product recommendations should be one platform.

Questions people ask before choosing.

Including the one where the answer is a competitor.

Across the ten tools on this page, published entry prices run from free (OptiMonk, Poptin) to €499 a month (Wisepops), with most landing between $19 and $59. What differs more than the number is the unit: some bill on pageviews, some on campaign impressions, some on email contacts, some on unique visitors. A store with heavy traffic and a small list pays very differently under each. BetterPopup is $100 a month for up to 20,000 unique monthly visitors.

Yes. OptiMonk publishes a free plan at 10,000 pageviews a month on one domain with all features, and Poptin publishes a free-forever plan at 1,000 visitors a month. BetterPopup has no free tier — if free is the requirement, those two are the honest answer and you should start there.

Every tool here works on Shopify, so the question is really which billing unit and which integrations fit. If you run Klaviyo alone, Klaviyo's own forms are hard to beat on value. If you run Klaviyo plus an SMS provider, a tool that writes to several destinations from one popup saves you maintaining several forms. If budget is the binding constraint, start with a free tier and move when it stops fitting.

Because it is priced on unique monthly visitors with no feature tiers behind it — every plan gets all 30 templates, every trigger, every audience rule, A/B testing and all 6 integrations. That is a worse deal than a free tier if you need one popup on one small site, and a better one if you were about to pay for a higher tier elsewhere to unlock targeting or testing.

Every figure was read off the vendor's own published pricing page on 17 August 2026, and each row links to its source so you can check it. Vendors change pricing without notice, and several of these hide their real rate behind a demo. Treat this as a starting point for your own comparison, not as a quote.
