Cookie Policy

1. What cookies we use
- Essential cookies — sign-in sessions and security (e.g. CSRF protection), plus a
bp_regioncookie that records whether cookie consent is legally required where you are, so we know whether to ask. It stores a region category, never your address or location. The site can't function without these, so they can't be switched off. - Functional storage — small conveniences you ask for, such as remembering the store URL you last entered in the install dialog.
- Analytics cookies — product analytics (PostHog) that show us which parts of the dashboard are used, so we can improve them. These are off unless you allow them, and you can withdraw permission at any time.
2. The embed script on your store
When you run BetterPopup on your storefront, our script stores a small first-party value in the visitor's browser to remember whether a popup was shown or dismissed, so visitors aren't nagged twice. It contains no personal data and is never used for cross-site tracking or advertising.
3. Managing cookies
Use the Cookie preferences link in the footer — or the same control under Settings → Tracking in your dashboard — to allow or refuse analytics at any time. Refusing is a single click, and withdrawing permission later takes effect immediately.
Where local law requires us to ask before setting analytics cookies, we show a banner on your first visit and set nothing until you choose. Elsewhere we don't interrupt you with a banner, but the same control is always in the footer and refusing there works identically.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in from working.
