OptinMonster costs $7. Until you need the thing you came for.

Exit-Intent® starts on their $29 tier. Shopify integration starts on their $49 tier, which renews at $122.50. This page prices the plan you would actually buy, using their own published figures.

It is a bigger product than ours.

OptinMonster ships 700+ templates against our 30, and 12 campaign formats including content lockers, countdown timers and coupon wheels. It runs on WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and Magento as well as Shopify, it lists 50+ integrations, and it invented the exit-intent trigger the rest of the category copied.

If you run several sites on several platforms and want one tool across all of them, OptinMonster is the better fit and this page will not talk you out of it. What follows is about the gap between the price you see and the plan you end up on.

What each OptinMonster tier actually unlocks.

Read from optinmonster.com/pricing and optinmonster.com/features on 17 August 2026. The introductory rates are real and apply for the first twelve months; the renewal column is OptinMonster's own published full price. They also publish a 14-day money-back guarantee. Nothing here is a claim about their performance — only about what they publish.

OptinMonster questions, answered straight.

Starting with the one about whether it is free.

It builds and targets onsite campaigns — lightbox popups, floating bars, fullscreen welcome gates, slide-ins, content lockers, countdown timers and coupon wheels — with page-level targeting, geolocation, referrer detection and onsite retargeting, plus A/B testing and revenue attribution. It runs on WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Squarespace and Wix, and lists 50+ integrations.

No. OptinMonster publishes no free plan; its lowest tier is $7 a month billed annually for the first 12 months. BetterPopup has no free tier either. If free is the requirement, OptiMonk publishes a free plan at 10,000 pageviews a month and Poptin a free-forever plan at 1,000 visitors — those are the honest answers, and neither is us.

It depends entirely on which tier you actually need. The headline $7 excludes A/B testing, device targeting and Exit-Intent® — the feature OptinMonster is best known for, which starts on the $29 Pro tier. Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento integrations start on the $49 Growth tier. Price the tier that has what you need, then compare that number.

Because the published prices are introductory and apply for 12 months. OptinMonster's own pricing page lists the renewal rates: $210 a year on Basic, $570 on Plus, $870 on Pro and $1,470 on Growth. Growth therefore renews at roughly $122.50 a month, which is above BetterPopup's $100. Read from their pricing page on 17 August 2026.

You need something to capture with — the question is only what. OptinMonster is a strong general-purpose onsite campaign tool across many platforms. BetterPopup is narrower on purpose: an ecommerce capture layer that writes one signup to all 6 connected providers at once and can withhold itself from someone already subscribed through any of them.

Different units, and it matters. OptinMonster caps campaign impressions — 2,500 a month on Basic, up to 100,000 on Growth — so a busy store can exhaust a tier without gaining a subscriber. BetterPopup bills on unique monthly visitors, 20,000 at entry, and does not cap how often your popups are shown.

One plan. One price. Everything in it.

No tier to climb for exit intent, and no renewal surprise.
